Simulación de OFDM mediante GNU Radio.

Abstract

The objective of this degree project is to simulate OFDM modulation using the GNU Radio software and to implement a technique to reduce the PAPR problem in this simulation. Once the necessary knowledge about OFDM and the necessary blocks to implement the simulation are acquired, a project is developed in GNU Radio. This degree project consists of five chapters distributed in the following order. The first chapter covers the general objective, specific objectives, scope and theoretical framework. The second chapter describes the methodology applied in the implementation of the project. The third chapter explains the result of the research on the procedure involved in performing the simulation of OFDM modulation in GNU Radio along with their respective blocks dividing the simulation into two parts: transmitter and receiver. In addition, the investigation of several techniques to reduce the PAPR and the reason why the Channel Coding technique is chosen as the solution to reduce the PAPR is shown. It also describes the necessary blocks and the configuration for the implementation of this technique in GNU Radio, which will be added to the GNU Radio block diagram on the transmitter side in order to reduce the PAPR of the signal to be transmitted. Finally, it is shown by means of power measurements that the objective of reducing the PAPR was achieved. The remaining chapters, fourth and fifth are focused on the conclusions acquired from the study of this degree project and its execution, in addition to the recommendations aligned with this topic of study.
