Abstract

The objective of this work is to elaborate and test qualification matrices for technical components involved in the implementation of administrative IT systems and services in On Premise and cloud computing modes in order to determine which option is the most profitable and feasible for a company in Ecuador. To determine these matrices, relevant aspects within the companies in Ecuador were evaluated, such as the number of hired personnel, the annual sales variable and the active amount they have, these parameters allowed to determine the approximate number of users that would be needed to acquire an administrative IT service or system On Premise or in cloud computing. In addition, the active amount and annual sales made it possible to identify which technology was the most profitable for the companies. The base referential cost of the components and modules on which the companies were evaluated was determined through the evaluation of the prices of each one of them with suppliers that are in the market, among the components evaluated is Data center, hardware which includes servers and storage systems, software with the operating system, database and virtualization and finally, the application where administrative modules such as human resources management, inventory management and asset management were considered. In addition, a comparative analysis is carried out between the On Premise and cloud computing modalities, where aspects of operation, payment systems, maintenance and security are detailed, which is concluded at a general level that the computing cloud modality has better advantages in relation to On Premise.
