Determinación de la brecha de ciencia, tecnología e innovación entre Ecuador con Argentina, Chile y Colombia

Abstract

Due to the high value that has been granted to R & D as an essential part in the development path; and the lack of reference values that determine their optimal spending or the appropriate amount of scientists and engineers that a society should have. It has become essential to define indicators that can be compared to each other internationally both for R & D related purposes and for the monitoring of innovation processes. Therefore, the research based on the collection of indicators of information sources of the international community seeks the gap in C + T + I in Ecuador with Argentina, Chile and Colombia as well as estimating future scenarios. The main findings of the present investigation show two trends, in the group of input indicators of science, technology and innovation, there is a reduction in the gap between Ecuador and Argentina, Chile and Colombia, while the results indicators show a marked backwardness with the rest of the countries.
