Implementación de un servidor multimedia sobre un NAS empleando un Raspberry Pi.

Abstract

The present degree project, "Implementation of a multimedia server on a NAS using a Raspberry Pi", the hardware consists of a Raspberry Pi 4B minicomputer, two HDD storage devices, and a hub. The software part used is the Raspberry Pi OS along with Openmediavault and Plex Media Server. All this set of software and hardware is integrated into a prototype that is stored in a box, to protect the interconnections and devices from external agents that may interfere with its operation. The purpose of the project is the backup of the content stored in the NAS and the local consumption of the multimedia content from a web browser and/or through a proprietary application. The first section of the document contains the description of the developed component, where the operation of the prototype is detailed in general, as well as the general objective, specific objectives proposed for the project. It also includes a theoretical framework where the definitions that complement what has been done can be found. The second section of the document consists only of the methodology used for the identification of prototype requirements, selection of hardware and software, implementation, and functional tests. The third section details the results obtained from the methodology and objectives previously proposed, to subsequently design and implement the prototype and perform functional tests to verify that the objectives have been achieved. The fourth and fifth section of the document consists of conclusions and recommendations obtained from the development of the project.
