Determinantes del gasto social en América Latina en el periodo 1990-2013

Abstract

Social expenditure in Latin America has witnessed a constant growth in the latter years, especially motivated on the need to improve citizens' lifestyles that added to political and economical factors have given way to economic expansion and sustainability. The research presented here has as its main objective to analyze, based on the economic theory, which factors have been influential, using data with time-series-cross-section structure from CEPAL for period of 1990-2013, from Latin American countries. The investigation yields a positive correlation between tax revenue and government expenses in a short-term period.
