Desarrollo de una aplicación web para medir el coeficiente intelectual de personas con discapacidad intelectual

Abstract

Nowadays, there are several applications to measure the Intelligence Quotient (IQ). However, these applications are not useful for measuring the IQ of people with intellectual disabilities. This project at to develop a web application to measure the IQ of people with intellectual disabilities. To solve this problem, Action Design Research (ADR) and User Experience Design (UXD) were used. Through the research of the subject, three iterations possible solutions were proposed and developed in two iterations. The first iteration produced the Alpha Prototype, which does not meet the objective of measuring the IQ of people with intellectual disabilities. This is because the Alpha Prototype when interacting directly with people with intellectual disabilities, generated stress, fatigue, and produced erroneous results. The Alpha Prototype could measure the IQ, but in cases of people with intellectual disabilities, an intermediary (therapist, parent or guardian) is needed to create an environment of trust with the patient. The second iteration resulted in the Beta Prototype, unlike the Alpha Prototype, considers the interaction with the therapist, becoming a technical tool that has the scales of Zazzo and WISC III digitized and automated. Thus, the Beta Prototype fulfills the project objective. The third iteration is the tuning of the Beta Prototype. In conclusion, the web application developed is a complementary tool that measures the IQ of people with intellectual disability, through the use of a scale and including on the interaction of the application with the therapist and the person with intellectual disability.
