Ley Antimonopolio Ecuatoriana: un análisis de sus efectos en la rentabilidad de las empresas

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the performance of Ecuadorian companies before and after the implementation of the Ecuadorian Antitrust Law. Based on the existing literature on how an antitrust law could influence competition and, therefore, affect the performance of companies, we assume that the Ecuadorian antitrust law would affect the performance of companies. To verify this premise, we use data from the Ecuadorian internal revenue service for the period 2007-2016. Thus, the results of the regression with panel data prove empirically that the implementation of the Antitrust Law, in addition to other factors, would affect the performance of Ecuadorian companies.
