Análisis de la accesibilidad del internet en el contexto ecuatoriano

Abstract

The present technical study presents an analysis of the current situation of Internet Accessibility in Ecuador, as well as the development of an information collection tool to measure this principle. This tool is applied to a given sample, as a practical example of the study, and subsequently validated by statistical analysis.

Chapter 1 shows the general concept of the Internet, history, major services, and common access technologies. It explains UNESCO’s publication of the Internet Universality Indicators and gives an overview of the term Accessibility.

Chapter 2 presents the frame of reference and review of previous studies conducted within the country based on this. The macro measurement model is constructed, and the study construct is developed by

determining its factors and variables. The information collection tool is developed, determining an application sample, and the factorial analysis methods are presented to validate this tool.

Chapter 3 shows the statistical results of the application of the tool, with the results of the factorial analysis performed. The reduction of variables is performed, to obtain a validated tool.

Chapter 4 shows its conclusions and recommendations.
