Abstract: | This study focused on analyzing the impact that personal problems and family support have on the performance of Ecuadorian businesses, particularly within the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. To do this, it was tested whether the personal problems of entrepreneurs have a negative effect on the performance of their business; Family support for the entrepreneur has a positive or negative effect on the performance of their business, through a survey of business owners in the country whit different questions related to their personal, emotional, family and work life, for which a binary logistic regression model due to the nature of the dependent variable were chosen. Thus, it was confirmed that the family does have a negative impact on the development of the business. |
Description: | El presente estudio se enfocó en analizar el impacto que tienen los problemas personales y el apoyo familiar en el desempeño de los negocios ecuatorianos, particularmente dentro del contexto de la pandemia de COVID-19. Para ello, se probó si los problemas personales de los emprendedores tienen un efecto negativo en el desempeño de su negocio; el apoyo familiar hacia el emprendedor tiene un efecto positivo o negativo en el desempeño de su negocio, mediante una encuesta a propietarios de negocios del país en donde se plantearon diferentes preguntas relacionadas a su vida personal, emocional, familiar y laboral, para lo cual se eligió un modelo de regresión logístico binario debido a la naturaleza de la variable dependiente. Así, se confirmó que la familia sí tiene una incidencia negativa en el desarrollo del negocio. |
