| Abstract: | The present work deals with regional exports of the manufacturing sector, several investigations have already addressed exports and the determinants that influence them, however, previously it has not been taken into account at the subnational level. To carry out this work, data from various institutions were used, such as the INEC, the Ministry of Education, the SRI and the Electricity Control and Regulation Agency. The results for Ecuador and the research period suggest that business density, assets, baccalaureate rate and the price of electricity have a positive impact on manufacturing exports, however, the number of companies with an age above the average have a negative impact, the older the companies tend not to export, at least not in the manufacturing sector. |
| Description: | El presente trabajo aborda las exportaciones regionales del sector manufacturero, varias investigaciones ya abordaron las exportaciones y lo determinantes que influyen, sin embargo, anteriormente no se ha tenido en cuenta a nivel subnacional. Para llevar a cabo el presente trabajo se utilizó datos de diversas instituciones, como lo son el INEC, el Ministerio de Educación, el SRI y la Agencia de Control y Regulación de Electricidad. Los resultados para Ecuador y el periodo de investigación sugieren que la densidad empresarial, los activos, tasa de bachillerato y el precio de la energía eléctrica tienen una incidencia positiva en las exportaciones manufactureras, sin embargo, la cantidad de empresas con una edad superior al promedio inciden de manera negativa, a más edad las empresas tienden a no exportar, al menos no en el sector manufacturero. |
