Impacto de las TIC en la productividad de las grandes y medianas empresas del Ecuador en el año 2021.

Abstract

Following up to the available literature as a starting point, the objective of this research paper is to prove the positive impact of investments in the area of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), specifically with regards to workers productivity in medium and large enterprises in Ecuador. As a reference the Encuesta Estructural Empresarial (ENESEM) of 2021 was the main data point used, the methodology used for this questionnaire was quantile regression. The results from this investigation indicate that, in the case of Ecuador, an institution which invests in ICT increases their worker´s productivity. This find doesn’t only align with the existing literature, but also highlights the strategic importance of ICT in the optimization of corporate efficiency. Additionally, the results also showcase the significant importance of other factors, such as the participation of foreign investment, the size of the company, its longevity and certain economic activities, as factors to determine its productivity.
