Desarrollo de aplicaciones web y móvil para la gestión de publicaciones científicas

Abstract

The scientific production aims the diffusion of knowledge originates during researches. The management and publication of this research is a complex process in which the interaction of various actors is fundamental to its success. However, its complexity and manual handling cause the time for reviewing, accepting, or rejecting an article to be longer than expected. In pursuit of the efficiency of the process, the use of computer systems that manage the entire flow of information has been chosen. However, they do not always facilitate this, causing them to be forgotten and delayed.

In this degree work, we propose the development of a Web application and a mobile application to manage the process of acceptance or rejection of a scientific publication, from the author’s submission to the publisher’s final decision. This system aims to solve the needs of the roles involved in the process, generating constant notifications, and simply automating all activities.

The development of the project takes as a reference the theory of software engineering where agile methodologies will be used for its implementation, creating a combined model between the Scrum framework and the good practices of Extreme Programming (XP).
